Anzac Day has always being a day on which I remember my fore-fathers and indeed all the Australians who served or died in all wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations.
I have been a frequent of Anzac day service for many years now. Growing up in a town that was settled by returned soldiers it was an annual activity that saw most of the town turning up to honour the men and women that served for our Country.
The Centenary Service and March was the largest I have ever attended. Perhaps the 100 years was the reason for the large turnouts or perhaps it is that ANZAC Day signifies our countries values of courage, mateship, and sacrifice. Values that hold great meaning to our community and to our sense of national identity.
